Before You Visit

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your lesson begins so that you can groom, tack, and warm up your horse. Tacking means outfitting your horse with his saddle and bridle. We’ll show you how to do all these things, so no worries!

You must wear a certified equestrian helmet for any type of riding lesson at Horse ’N Soul. Bicycle helmets are not approved. We provide your helmet for the first five lessons and ask that you purchase one after that. We sell equestrian helmets, and we’re happy to recommend brands and styles.

Footwear

Please wear boots with a low tread and a small heel, or riding boots if you have them. Sneakers are not permitted because they do not fit correctly into the stirrups.

Pants

Please wear stretchy, comfortable jeans or pants, or riding pants if you have them. Shorts are not permitted.

Shirt/Outerwear

Any kind of weather-appropriate shirt is fine. If the weather calls for it, please wear a coat or jacket that you can move comfortably in.

Every lesson begins with grooming and tacking up your horse. Every lesson ends with a bit more grooming and putting away your tack. Horse ’N Soul provides all the grooming and tacking equipment you need.

Payment is due at the time of your lesson. You can pay by credit card (with a small, flat processing fee added), check, or cash. Lessons are as follows:

• 60-minute initial evaluation lesson: $60
• 30-minute private lesson: $50
• 60-minute semi-private lesson (three students max): $50 per student

Plan to leave 20-30 minutes after your lesson ends so that you can cool down your horse, remove his tack, groom him, and inspect him for any cuts and scrapes.
