The Horse ’N Soul Herd

We find our horses through referrals and through our veterinarian. We also rescue horses that have been neglected, overused, confined, or injured.

Then we give them the best life they could imagine. They get love and attention, good food and regular grooming, and an idyllic place to roam, rest, and play.

In their former lives, several of our horses were considered useless. They were slated to be put down.

Now they have a purpose to their days and a skip in their step. They’re happy and healthy, even if they have a few scars. That can describe you or your child, too.

Micah

Micah is a 24-year-old Black Quarter Horse Gelding who has been with Horse ‘N Soul for the past 15 years. Trained in the English discipline, he is one of the best therapy horses because we can always trust him to be steady and safe. He is also our resident tattletale because he lets the rider know if they are doing something wrong -he will stop right in the middle of the lesson if they don’t have it right!

Amigo

Amigo is a 21-year-old Quarter Pony Gelding Paint who has been with Horse ‘N Soul for 13 years. Trained in the English and Western disciplines, Amigo truly is a friend to all. He has taken care of our students from beginner all the way to advanced levels, including state level competition.

Jax

Jax is a 26-year-old Bay Quarter Horse Gelding who has been with Horse ‘N Soul for 12 years. Originally from Erie, PA, Jax is our perfect beginner horse because he has the best canter to learn on.

Watson

Watson is a 17-year-old Appaloosa Gelding who kicks butt in the Western discipline. Because of this, he is our preferred gamer!

Justice

Justice is a 13-year-old Thoroughbred Bay Mare trained in the English discipline. Justice is an extremely athletic horse with plenty of high energy. She is also the mama to some beautiful babies!

Charm

Charm is a 16-year-old Arab Cross Mare trained in the English discipline. She is a little ball of fire, but is great with our little students.

Addie

Addie is a 14-year-old Thoroughbred Chestnut Mare trained in the English discipline. She is a strong, vivacious jumper and a star at the competitions.

Fred

Fred is a 13-year-old Chestnut Quarter Horse Gelding trained in both the English and Western disciplines. He is a real gentleman and a gentle giant with loads of talent that earns him big wins at competitions. Fred is a hunter/jumper and has taught many students to jump with confidence over the years.

Catori

Catorie is a 17-year-old Red Roan Appaloosa Mare trained in the English and Western disciplines. Even though she was strictly Western when she arrived at Horse ‘N Soul, she has really learned how to jump well. She loves to go but now is learning how to slow down!

Eli

Eli is a 10-year-old Dark Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding trained in the English discipline. He is new to the Horse ‘N Soul team but has already been a blessing to our students. He is blind in one eye but has the heart and the courage to take care of our students under saddle.

Roxy

Roxy is a 25-year-old Sorrel Quarter Horse Mare trained in the English and Western disciplines. She has been with Horse ‘N Soul for all but two years of her life, and though she was a very untrusting horse when she arrived, she really helped our team to learn patience and unconditional love through equine therapy. Roxy is now wonderful for ground lessons!

Java

Java is a 13-year-old Dark Chestnut Thoroughbred Gelding trained in the English discipline. True to his name, Java has a lot of jump and is used for our more experienced riders. He is very sweet and thinks he’s a lap horse. He is definitely a lover!

Domino

Domino is a 16-year-old Paint Draft Cross Gelding trained in the English and Western disciplines. He has a very sweet attitude and great work ethic – he will try anything and still take care of his rider. The team was unsure about him when he first arrived, but now he has made a name for himself!

Frankie

Frankie is a 16-year-old Sorrel Quarter Horse Gelding. He is new to our team and we are currently working with him to get him back in shape. Once he’s ready, he will be perfect for our beginner riders because he is so sweet and easygoing, and moves and stops so nicely!

Judah

Judah is a 11-year-old Gray Quarter Horse who is new to the Horse ‘N Soul team. He is currently working to get back in shape and become an excellent option for our intermediate students. He is very sweet, has more ‘go’ than ‘whoa,’ and moves and stops beautifully.

Knobby

Knobby is a 29-year-old Fox Trotter Gelding Paint who has a very special story. When it was learned he was completely blind, the vet caring for him thought the best thing for him was to euthanize him. However, instead Knobby has been working with us on ground training and as a therapy horse for many years! He helps to show our students that no matter what you can still have purpose and meaning to others. Knobby has brought growth to quite a few of our students and we are proud of him!
